About
Bone MD is my pseudonym. I am an orthopedic surgeon practicing in the hinterlands of Mindanao, Philippines.
I am now orthopedic consultant to several hospitals here in the South Mindanao area and help train residents in one training institution. My practice is mostly (but not limited to) orthopedic trauma and general medicine, as these are the predominant health care problem in my area.
My inclination is into academics and clinical orthopedics but I dabble in so many other non medical endeavors (like blogging, computers, outdoors, sports) so as not to waste my time looking at the ceiling of my non existent clinics.
Hopefully, I'll get into a fellowship training abroad, joints and upper extremity perhaps and combine it with computer gadgetry, blogging and sports.
Ubundok is a board certified orthopedic surgeon practicing in Southern Mindanao, Philippines. hi!i'm interested in joining the blog rounds. how do i submit my articles?
hi doc,
i was wondering if it is possible to do an international elective in orthopedics over there in the philippines. is it hard for a US medical student to do so?
Reiner, Its possible for you to do that ortho elective here for as long as the course requirement of your school is met by the institution you want to go to here.
Personally, I knew UP-PGH and Davao Medical Center has had such rotators before.
hi doc, sure i'd be happy to add you up here..I'm not quiet sure if i'd known you personally but i know some orthopedics doctors at DMC...goodluck on your career & more power!
